5 millions de Zoo Tycoon

Il est temps pour Blue Fang Games de faire un petit bilan de sa série Zoo Tycoon qui sévit sur PC depuis quatre ans maintenant. Et contrairement à ce qu'on pourrait croire, la franchise est un produit qui se vend bien, très bien même puisque le développeur américain vient d'annoncer avoir franchi la barre des 5 millions d'unités vendues à travers le monde, en comptabilisant les scores de vente de Zoo Tycoon 2. Comme quoi, ce ne sont pas forcément les jeux les plus attendus qui cartonnent le plus. Voici un extrait du communiqué de presse officiel :

Blue Fang's award-winning "Zoo Tycoon" franchise, published by Microsoft(R) Game Studios, has now sold more than 5 million units worldwide LTD and over 2.5 million units in the United States. The company launched "Zoo Tycoon 2" in November 2004 as a follow up to its highly popular "Zoo Tycoon" game. "Zoo Tycoon 2" has been a top-selling PC game since its release and was among the top 5 best-selling PC games in the U.S. during December 2004 according to The NPD Group. "Zoo Tycoon 2" also set a record within the "Zoo Tycoon" franchise in December 2004 for most units sold in a month by a single title.

"Zoo Tycoon 2" has already earned high praise from gaming and parenting experts as well as its loyal fan base. Earlier this month, "Zoo Tycoon 2" earned the AIAS (Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences) Computer Family Game of the Year Interactive Achievement Award. Other notable awards and recognitions include Scholastic Parent and Child Magazine's "Teacher's Pick: Best Tech 2004", The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, Child Magazine's "The Best Software and Video Games of 2004", Dean Takahashi's Top- 10 Games of 2004 and Dr. Toy's Top-10 High Tech Toys of 2004. "Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection" also earned AIAS Computer Family Title of the Year Interactive Achievement Award in March 2004.
